  • Concepts covered: The rate and extent of chemical change, organic chemistry; chemical analysis, the chemistry of the atmosphere; and using resources
  • Exam time: 1 Hour 45 minutes written exam
  • Total marks: 100
  • Total weight: 50% of GCSE
  • Question format: multiple choice, structured, closed short answer and open response

Assessment Format of Practical Assessment

In the written exam questions, instructors will assess students’ knowledge and comprehension of the material they have covered in the course through a range of practical activities and demonstrations. These questions will account for at least 15% of the total score for the qualifying.
