You can add oil, any seasoning, spices, or a splash of lemon to liven up and enrich its taste. The time for reheating depends on the density of the fish. If your fish is curried, heat it for some extra time.
- Stove: You can warm the skillet on low heat. Before frying, add some oil and flip each side carefully. You can take three minutes for each side. Review both sides to see whether it is heating correctly, and you do not overcook the dish.
Air Fryer: Load your fish into the basket and squirt a bit of olive oil over the fillet. Fry for 4 minutes at 320°F and flip it over with tongs. You can heat the fish for 2 minutes and increase the heat to 360°F. Check if the fish is done, by sticking a thermometer into the middle of the fish. The temperature must record at least 145°F.
- Frying Pan: Heat the frying pan over a low-medium flame. Coat the pan with oil and heat up for several minutes. Depending on the thickness of the fish, shallow fry it for 1-2 minutes on each side. Wrap the fish with a kitchen towel to absorb excess oil. Let it rest on a dish lined with paper towels. For extra richness, use clarified butter, always preheat the pan before adding oil, and use a non-stick pan.
Food Safety and Hygiene Rules For Reheating Fish
No one can deny the food safety and hygiene issue, which is always strictly followed while it is heated again. It is a matter of some rules or techniques. However, some essential food safety and hygiene rules are followed when reheating fish.
- It is essential to cool the cooked food. So it reaches the safe refrigerator-storage temperature of 40° F or below to prevent the growth of bacteria.
- When reheating cooked fish, heat it until it is steaming hot through. You can use a food thermometer to check the internal temperature and ensure the fish reaches 165°F.

How to Defrost Fish?
Before reheating, you need to defrost the fish properly. Safe ways to thaw leftovers are- in the refrigerator, cold water, and the Microwave. These three options are briefly described below-
- Fridge: Thawing in the Refrigerator takes the longest, but the pieces remain safe. Put the package in a lower refrigerator content, and leave it overnight. After defrosting, the food can be used within 3 to 4 days or frozen again.
- Cold water: It is a faster method than the fridge, but you have to be more careful. Keep the frozen leftovers in a leak-proof package or plastic bag. If the bag leaks, water could get into the food and bacteria from the air or surrounding environment Foods thawed by cold water should be cooked before refreezing.
- Microwave: When thawing leftovers in a microwave, continue to heat them until it reaches 165° F as measured with a food thermometer. It is the fastest thawing method, and you can freeze food again after reheating it at a perfect temperature.

How Many Times Can You Reheat Fish?
